TikTok suspends operations in the United States

Starting today, January 19, 2025, TikTok is officially banned in the United States. This follows a Supreme Court ruling upholding a law that mandates TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to divest ownership due to national security concerns.
Existing users in the U.S. will be greeted with a prompt that “Tiktok isn’t available right now” upon opening the app. New downloads and updates will be blocked, gradually phasing out the platform.
