YouTube Premium, the ad-free subscription service from Google, is set to see a price hike in the Philippines starting October 2024. This adjustment comes as part of a global price increase for the streaming platform.

Under the new pricing structure, the price for the Individual Plan will rise from PHP 159 to PHP 189 per month. The Family Plan will see a significant jump from PHP 239 to PHP 379 per month. Additionally, the student plan will now be available at PHP 115 per month.

According to the email sent by Google to YouTube Premium subscribers, the price increase will allow YouTube to “continue to improve Premium and support the creator and artists”.

Despite the price hike, YouTube Premium remains a competitive option in the streaming market, offering benefits like ad-free videos, offline downloads, and access to YouTube Music.

Subscribers are advised to review their plans and consider locking in the current rates before the new prices take effect. YouTube is also offering a trial price of Php 0 for new to Premium subscribers. Actual pricing will take effect after one month.

For current subscribers, to check your account status and billing information, you may go to Settings > Purchases and Memberships in the YouTube app and Avatar > Purchases and Memberships in the YouTube website.
