STI College Database Breached by Greyhat Group, Student Info Potentially Exposed

MANILA, Philippines – Greyhat group “DeathNote Hackers PH” has compromised STI College’s database, potentially exposing student and employee information. The group claimed on social media that they had gain access to sensitive data from two crucial email accounts (noreply@sti dot edu and inquire@sti dot edu).
The group accused STI of failing to adequately protect sensitive information. Furthermore, they claim the institution has ignored concerns raised by students and alumni about delayed transcripts and unresponsive communication.
The group has uploaded a 1.85GB ZIP file to file hosting site Mega, containing samples of the compromised data.
STI Philippines has not yet issued an official statement regarding the breach.
